Firearms and tactical training for the people who protect us

Ready is earned. We give them the ground to earn it.

The military and law enforcement who protect us are training on a fraction of what the job demands. Polaris closes that gap on 1,500 acres of private ground, at no cost to those who serve. Travel, lodging, meals, equipment, and ammunition are covered.

The mission

Readiness is a promise this country makes to the people it sends into danger. Too often the budget breaks it. We keep it.

Polaris is a veteran owned and operated nonprofit. We provide elite-level vendor training and mentorship to military and law enforcement units that are underfunded, or not funded at all. And we bring the veteran community back alongside the people still serving, so the lessons that cost us something are not relearned the hard way.

Not just shooting and tactics. Professionalism, leadership, and the network they will need in twenty years, built now, while it still has time to compound.

The way we do it is the point. Special operations veterans teach alongside our instructors, so the people who learned these lessons at real cost hand them directly to the people about to need them. That is the reconnection this organization exists to make.

Cost should never decide who comes home.

180
Rounds a year. Per sniper.

That is the annual training allotment for a working sniper. A recreational shooter burns more than that in a single afternoon.

This training exists, and it works. Well-funded special operations and federal units buy it every year. It is simply out of reach for regular military units and small-town agencies, who are out doing the same job with the same consequences.

The math is the whole problem. One outside course runs about $2,500 before travel, another $1,500 in ammunition, and thousands more in the equipment to shoot it. That is not a line most units have, and it is not a bill an officer should be paying themselves.

The gap is real. It is national. And it is fixable.

What we do

Immersive. Demanding. Built for the work.

Not a day at the range. Ten to twelve officers live on the ranch for five days and train the way the job is actually done: worked hard, fed well, and put through real repetitions across real ground. We aim to run a cohort every month, as funding and seats allow. Every course runs at no cost to those who serve.

01 / Precision marksmanship

The reps the budget won't buy.

Fundamentals rebuilt from the ground up, then advanced wind management, ballistics, and equipment optimization. Live-fire volume built around genuine proficiency, not a qualification quota.

02 / Urban and rural tradecraft

Shooting is the easy part.

What happens before the shot and after it: observation techniques, use of cover, hide-site tradecraft, battlefield geometry, and troubleshooting. It is not enough to make the shot. You need to live through it too.

03 / Recovery

Recovery is part of readiness.

The location is austere. The food and the beds are not. Nutritionist-provided meals, sleep treated like vital training, and sauna and ice bath for recovery and cognition. Surviving twenty-two years of overseas conditions has taught us a lot about officer optimization that should be implemented at twenty-five.

What is coming next. Precision marksmanship is where we start because it is where the gap is widest. As the program grows we are building toward close-quarters work and advanced pistol and carbine, which is what law enforcement asks us for most. See the full program.
The ranch

Fifteen hundred acres of New Mexico high desert.

Distance, elevation, and unforgiving terrain you will not find on a public range. Private ground, built for the work, under a sky that goes dark enough to train the way the mission demands.

Ways to support

It takes more than money to close the gap.

Every form of support puts more repetitions on the line.

01

Funds

The most direct way to help. Dollars become range days, rounds, and beds for the people we train.

Ammunition

Rounds downrange is the entire point. We are looking for a manufacturer or distributor who can commit a single large lot, which does far more for a training calendar than scattered small shipments.

The fastest way to close the gap is to make people see it.

Most Americans assume this training is already paid for. It is, for a few. If you have an audience, you can change what people understand about the rest. We work with creators, athletes, brands, and media who want to put real reach behind frontline readiness, and we do it straight, without the noise and without pointing fingers at anyone in uniform.
